How long will it take before I receive my hair extensions?
The shipment method I use is USPS Priority Mail. 7-10 business days for Domestic shipments and 14-28 business days for international shipments. If you are purchasing hair for a special occasion, please message me before placing your order to confirm if you will receive your order within a reasonable time frame.
How long will it take before I receive my wig?
As soon as I receive your order I will start making your wig. Please allow 7-14 business days for domestic shipments this is including the timeframe to customize your wig and 14-28 days for international shipments. If you are purchasing a wig for a special event please message me before placing your order to confirm if you will receive your order within a reasonable time frame
Is Hair by Mel's Virgin Human Hair processed or unprocessed and what is the difference?
Our hair is steam processed. The difference is processed hair is chemically altered and unprocessed hair is hair that has been altered by stem but chemical- free.
Is Hair by Mel's Hair raw or virgin hair and what is the difference?
We offer virgin hair. Virgin hair is sourced from more than one donor and raw hair is usually hair from one donor. To help you understand the difference between raw and virgin hair, imagen going to a farmer garden and picking a fresh apple, the apple is in it raw state. Now that same farmer sells his apples in the grocery store after washing and polishing it, the apple is now virgin. Some of those same apples was made into apple source with different flavors the apple is now processed.
How many bundles do I need to purchase?
2-3 bundles is usually enough for a full head, if the length reaches 20 inch, I suggest you order 3- 4 bundles.
Can the hair be colored or bleached?
Yes. The hair can be colored. As a general rule it is easier to darken the hair than to lighter the hair. What the means is if you want your hair to go from a #1B color to a #1 hair color, you’re not taking a higher risk of damaging your hair. We highly recommend having professional hairstylist dye the extensions as you will get the results you want, coloring them yourself always poses a high risk of not achieving the shade you desire. If you cannot get to a salon, always use a good quality hair dye and test a small sample first.
Will the hair shed or tangle?
Before I started selling Hair by Mel's hair I personally worn each texture of hair I sell to ensure we only sold excellent quality hair to our customers. Remy means when the hair was cut from a donor, the hair root and tip of the hair remain in the same direction. The cuticle of the hair is going in the same direction to prevent tangling and shedding. I’ve gotten a few strands of hair when washing the hair. It is not necessary that you seal your weft before installing but I do recommend that you trim your hair ends. However, dryness, oil & dirt build-up, salt water or not combing out your hair daily will lead to tangle and shedding. Please follow hair care instruction and use good shampoo & conditioner to wash hair once a week, or every other week.
Can I wash my wig hat?
Yes, you can wash you wig hat by hand. I recommend using Dawn dish liquid to clean your cap and allow to air dry. The Dawn dish liquid will not effect your hair extensions.
Can I build a wig without my head measurements?
Yes, you can build your wig without your head measurement , but the experience of getting a customize wig that you really like to fi you personally wouldn't be as much excitment if you did. Select standard size wig if you don't have measurements.
Returns, Refunds and Exchange Policy
If you are not satisfied with your purchase, a refund is provided for hair extensions that have not been worn, unwrapped, no odor , otherwise tampered with and requested to return within 3 days of your purchase delivery date. Refunds will not be honored after the 4th day from your delivery date only an exchange. Please contact us first before you send your hair back so we are aware of your return. Once we receive your return, and detect the hair hasn’t been altered with, we will process your refund. The refunded amount is credited to the original payment method. The buyer is responsible for the return shipping fee. All wigs, bonnets and wig hats are final sales.
We will provide you an exchange for hair extensions that have not been worn, unwrapped, no odor, otherwise tampered with and requested to return for an exchange by day 4th day from your delivery date. Please contact us first before you send your hair back so we are aware you are requesting an exchange. Once we receive your return, and detect the hair hasn’t been altered with we will exchange your hair for the same length and texture or different texture and same length at no extra charge or if you desire a different length and texture you will be billed for the difference in pricing. Exchanges are only allowed once from original purchase and will be a final sale. Promotional discount prices will not be honored when requesting an exchange if a promotion is being run during the time you request an exchange. No refund or exchange will be provided on or after day 30 from your delivery day of purchase including exchanges from original purchase.
To have a handmade wig made with Hair by Mel's Hair visit styleseat.com/charmelmack to continue your order. If additional hair is needed to make your wig I will notify you of additional charges.
If you provide you're own personal hair from additional hair needed and I am unable to use the hair you provided by any chance, I will also notify you that you must purchase hair for the construction of your wig. If you decide not to purchase new hair extensions, your hair will be returned back to you and we will not be able to provide a refund or exchange since the hair has been altered with.
How to request a refund, exchange or have a wig made?
